The Fire Technology Program

Escondido Charter High School’s Individualized Learning Program offers a Fire Technology program that gives students a head start in the pursuit of a firefighting career after high school.  The courses are taught by active-duty Firefighter/Paramedics who demonstrate the character and commitment necessary for a career as a firefighter.

The Fire Technology Program offers entry-level instruction in the tools and equipment firefighters use, the physical abilities testing firefighters must pass, and the medical training firefighters receive, including CPR and the use of defibrillators. Upon successful completion of the required courses, students may also earn college credits through an articulation agreement with Palomar College.
