Criminal Justice Class raise over $5000

On May 22, twelve students from the ILP Criminal Justice class, taught by retired Escondido Police Lt. Al Owens, traveled to the Palm Springs Police Dept. to deliver funds raised for the families of the two Palm Springs police officers who were killed in the line of duty last October.

Officers Vega and Zerebney were shot and killed on October 8th when responding to a report of a domestic dispute.  Since both officers had young children, the CJ class made it their semester project to raise funds for the officer’s families.  The CJ class was able to raise over $5000 and they were very humbled to meet the officer’s family members.
