The Escondido Charter High School Robotics Team, also known as the Daedalus Project, made it all the way to the final rounds of the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition in Phoenix Arizona on March 23, 2013. Out of a field of 50 robotics teams from Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Mexico, the ECHS team made it through the seed rounds and went all the way to the final rounds in a double elimination tournament.
The challenge this year was to throw frisbees and climb a steel pyramid. The team focused on climbing, and had success with their robot consistently climbing into the second zone. The team’s efforts took them all the way to the final round, where they lost.
