Next Tuesday, August 22nd, is school picture day! It is also a free dress day! Please remember that your outfit must follow the dress code guidelines in the Student Handbook.
Back to School Nights
Due to our enrollment numbers and the amount of space we have in our multipurpose room, we split our Back to School Nights up into two days. Kindergarten through 3rd grade Back to School Night will take place on Tuesday, August 22 and our 4th through 6th grade will take place on Thursday, August 24. Both evenings will begin with a short introduction in the multipurpose room @ 6:30 p.m. and the evening will conclude at 8:00 p.m. We ask that you please leave your students at home so that the teachers have an opportunity to speak with parents without distraction. Hope you can all make it!
The Heritage Uniform Store will be open on Tuesday August 22nd and Thursday August 24th from 2:25-6:00pm.
Come find great bargains on gently used uniforms. There are also limited quantities of new Heritage spirit wear.
Thank you to everyone that turned in their Emergency Cards, Handbook Acknowledgement form, and Household Income form. If you have not turned them in yet, please bring them in on Monday.
Parking on Campus
We realize that our parking for parents is limited, but please only park in the spots marked “visitor.” Our staff has assigned parking spots that are numbered and marked “staff.” Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Next Wednesday, August 23rd, is a modified day. School is dismissed at 1:45pm.
Drop-off / Pick-Up Reminders
The safety of our students is very important, so please remember that students are not allowed on the school grounds before 7:15am unless they go to the YMCA program. This policy can be found on page 6 of the Student/Parent Handbook. We ask that you abide by this policy because there is no supervision before 7:15am.
In addition, please do not drop your students off behind the buildings or anywhere other than the designated drop off location by the front lunch tables.
It is important that students be picked up after school in a timely manner. Unless a student is attending an after school activity, they should be picked up no later than 3:00pm on regular school days, 2:15pm on modified days, and 12:30 on minimum days. Thank you!
Traffic Lanes on Campus
When driving through campus to drop-off or pick-up students please be aware that after passing the first gate at the end of the 1855 building, the traffic goes to two lanes.
Pizza Lunch Fundraising Program
Our pizza lunch fundraising program started today! We will be offering the pizza lunch every Tuesday and Friday. For $4, students will get a slice of Little Caesars pizza, a fruit cup and a drink. Additional slices are $1. Students must order and pay for their pizza in their classroom by 8:00a.m. If your child is going to be late, due to an appointment, you must call the school before 8am if you want to order pizza. Also, please be aware that we do not give refunds to kids that ordered and then leave campus before lunch because we must place the order with Little Caesars early in the morning. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Steele at (760)737-3111.
Our art teacher, Ms. Sussman, is asking for donations of old washed T-shirts to be used as smocks and newspaper. Donations can be brought to room 216 or the office.
Lost & Found
Please check our lost & found if your child has lost a sweatshirt, lunchbox, etc. The lost & found is located by the stairwell next to the main office. Anything left in the lost and found at the end of every month will be taken to charity. Please be sure to label all of your students belongings with their name so lost items can be identified and returned to the student.
Parents who have students in grades 4-6 can have access to their student’s grades by using the Parent Portal. If you have not already set up your Parent Portal account you will receive an activation code at Back to School Night. Please direct all questions regarding the Parent Portal to Mrs. Megna at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Forget to buy a yearbook last year? There are still some available for purchase in the office for $35.
The Heritage library is in the process of moving from the 1845 building to the 1875 building due to an upcoming renovation project. Mrs. El Hayek has been working very hard to get the library up and running and hopes to open it in late September. She is in need of volunteers to help with the process. If you are interested please email her at email@example.com. The library is in need of large (empty) cereal boxes and jumbo Ziploc bags. Donations can be brought to the Heritage Main Office.
