Promotion to the next level in a class or grade will be based on the student’s academic performance, work effort, and mastery of the content and skills for the current course or grade. Advancement to the next level course or grade must be earned.
Note: Normally an overall GPA of 2.0 (“C” average of all courses) is required for promotion to the next grade level. Students who do not meet this requirement will normally be retained in their current grade.
In order for a student to be promoted to high school (9th grade), the student must have an overall GPA of 2.0 with a grade of “C” or higher in mathematics and language arts.
