School History

Heritage Digital Academy Middle School (HDAMS) is a part of the American Heritage Charter Schools along with Heritage K-8 and Escondido Charter High School. Heritage Digital Academy was established in 2004 as an independent study program (grades 6-8) in the Heritage K-8 Charter School. In response to parent demand, the school created a classroom-based version of the program in the fall of 2010 that implemented a blended learning model along side the K-8 traditional classroom program. Since then, the program has grown from ninety students to just over three hundred students, demonstrating a high demand by parents and students to participate in a blended learning program.
